I recorded this track by layering several long lasting VCV patches, one after the other, into cubase.
I added some hardware (model D, neutron, Brunswick) either into VCV rack for further modulation, or directly into cubase
As concept for this drone recording, I wanted to have a slow constant evolution in the sound (volume / modulation / frequency range) so I setup my VCV patches using the “Seriously Slow LFO” set to a long duration (>40min) and using the saw out to have a 20 min ramp up, that then controlled all sorts of things in each patch.
A final track, using an electric ukulele into a very long reverb (in cascade), gives it a bit of spacy harmonics and spectral variations.
The result is probably much too layered and dense, but it was hard to stop adding new tracks (one stereo track per VCV patch).
