“Obama's Drone” is a hybrid composition, comprising six tracks created and recorded within VCV Rack (using the NYSTHI “Master Recorder”) which are processed, mixed and mastered with Pro Tools 12.5. The main VCV Rack sound source is a bank of 32 Bog Audio “FM OP “oscillators tuned 1/8 tone apart that are amplitude, frequency and “feedback” modulated by several Bog Audio “8FO” phased output LFOs and AS LFOs, plus 2 MSM "Treasure" VCOs and two Vult "Basal" VCOs. John Melcher has been involved with modular synthesis since 1971 (a Buchla 100) and has five albums of electronic and virtually-realized instrumental music available from CD Baby, iTunes, Spotify, etc. A new album of VCV Rack-based music will be released in 2019.
